Over the last few years Teton County, ID has been one of the fastest growing counties in the state of Idaho, which is one of the fastest growing states in the nation. Such rapid growth strains every type of local resource, from water supply to wildlife habitat to government capacity. Land that has been unaltered for generations is now being permanently altered by development. The decisions we make now will reverberate far beyond our own lifetimes.

Valley Advocates for Responsible Development is a citizens' group working towards smart growth and development that will benefit the entire community. Our approach is a collaborative one. We seek to be a smart growth resource for local decision makers and developers, as well as to educate and empower citizens to be involved in the local decision making process.
